Vosne Romanée, Domaine Sylvain Cathiard 2014

A full purple with a little oak, but in balance with the plentiful and very classy fruit. Perhaps becomes just a little pinched. Plenty of dimension here, more structure, less seductive than Cathiard of the past, but with the expected class. Drink from 2024-2028.

An elegant if restrained nose offers up lovely spicy nuances on the dark berry fruit-scented aromas. There is a fine sense of energy to the detailed, sleek and taut medium weight flavors that possess a beguiling texture before terminating in a balanced and lingering finish. This is very Vosne in character though one that will require at least a few years of patience.
