Tasting notes

Erin Larkin, Wine Advocate, February 2025 96

The 2020 Home Vineyard Pinot Noir is supple and succulent. I recently had several glasses of this wine while in Adelaide and was struck once again by the charismatic red fruit register that it possesses. There are notes of fresh leather (like a new, expensive handbag), black cherry, pressed rose, pink peppercorn and sweet tobacco. This has an earthiness to it, like a pheromone pull, which is ever so subtle and mingles with the spicier, more exotic aromas on show. On the palate, it is exactly thus. This is a beautiful wine that is palindromic in its symmetry. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under Diam.

James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com, September 2022 94

A perfumed nose of pitted red cherries, spiced strawberries, cooking spice and moss. Medium-bodied with velvety tannins. Fresh and mineral on the palate with notes of wet stone, thyme, and red cherries oscillating between one another. Vibrant finish. Drink or hold.

Rebecca Gibb MW, vinous.com, May 2024 94

The 2022 Pinot Noir from the Home Vineyard is elegant, poised and innately powerful. There's certainly been no pushing here for color or extraction, allowing it to assert itself while remaining tender on the palate. There's intensity, energy and momentum within its core. Its youth is evident in its primary cherry fruit and oak-derived subtle vanilla, while there are interesting garrigue notes, too. The 2022 is all substance and length.
