Pataille’s large parcel of Longeroies is located at the bottom of the slope facing east. One-third of the vines are over 60 years of age, with the balance being replanted 15 years ago. Fermented as whole clusters and very gently extracted, this has a forward aroma of ripe cherry fruit, a touch of carbonic and a hint of menthol. The texture is grippy and firm, with a slight astringency that will take a bit of ageing to resolve. This is an impressive wine that should cellar well. (Drink between 2024-2034)
