Tasting notes

Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (183), June 2009 90

Toasty oak, loamy soil, sweet black cherry and black currant, and a whiff of herbs emerge from this mid-weight 1990's moderately intense bouquet. It reveals the sweetness, lushness, and low acidity that characterize this vintage, but without the deep, concentrated feel some of the top wines of the vintage possess. This wine is close to full maturity, and is not likely to get much better over the next 4-5 years, so consumption is warranted.

Robert Parker, Bordeaux Book (4), December 2003 90

An intense perfume of flowers, red and black fruits, minerals, and earth jumps from the glass of this medium-bodied, very elegant, yet beautifully etched St.Emilion. The wine has a dark ruby color with some amber at the edge. Sweet, round, and seemingly fully mature, this seductive, elegant wine shows tremendous perfume as well as the ability to caress the palate, but don't push its aging ability too far. Anticipated maturity: now-2010. Last tasted, 12/01.

Robert Parker, Bordeaux Book (3), November 1998 93

The impressive 1990 L'Arrosee offers up a provocative, penetrating, superfragrant nose of minerals, truffles, black fruits (jammy raspberries), and high-quality toasty oak. Rich, sweet, and full bodied, with well-integrated, moderate tannin, this lush, complex, and layered wine has turned out to be a super effort in this top-quality vintage. Anticipated maturity: Now-2015. Last tasted, 11/96.
