Gevrey Chambertin Combottes, Domaine Dujac 2010

A deft touch of wood frames an airy, cool and admirably pure nose of cassis, spice, floral scents and ripe red berry fruit aromas. There is a lovely inner mouth perfume to the vibrant and intense middle weight flavors that display a soft minerality that carries over to the dusty and lingering finish. The supporting tannins are well-integrated and I particularly like the highly sophisticated mouth feel. This firm and beautifully balanced effort will very likely require 10 to 12 years of cellar time.

Noticeable reduction renders the nose difficult to evaluate but there is a lovely inner mouth perfume to the vibrant and intense middle weight flavors that display a soft minerality that carries over to the dusty and lingering finish. The supporting tannins are well-integrated and I particularly like the highly sophisticated mouth feel. This firm and beautifully balanced effort will very likely require 12 to 15 years of cellar time.
