Tasting notes

Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (170), April 2007 92/94

This is a strong vintage for Bordeaux’s dry white wines, probably as good or better than 2005. Crisp acidity combined with outstanding concentration and the fact that most of the white grapes were harvested before the rains began in mid-September resulted in an impressive group of wines.

Neal Martin, RobertParker.com, April 2007 93/95

Tasted at a negotiant. Much more reserved and stony on the nose compared to the other wines. Lime, a touch of oyster shell. Introverted. The palate has superb concentration and acidity with a crisp lime, white peach finish, Great length, Superb. Tasted April 2007.

Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, April 2007 17+

Some light lemon and lanolin on the nose but less aromatic than most. Denser than most - quite fine with obvious layers. Lots of mineral quality and sinewy. Does not sing at this stage but it is pretty well constituted. Certainly not flashy! So introvert.... And very very youthful.

Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar (132), June 2007 92/94

Pale, green-tinged color. Sexy aromas of ripe fresh peach and apricot lifted by grapefruit and chlorophyll. Sappy and sweet, but almost gentle after the young 2007 despite its vibrant flavors of crystallized lemon peel and pungent chlorophyll. Finishes very fresh and long, with impressive energy. Owner Olivier Bernard describes this wine as more classic and vivid than the 2007, which he believes has more volume, structure and power, but also more generosity of texture. This will be a spectacular pair of vintages to compare over the next two or three decades.
