Tasting notes

Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (57), January 2015 94

**Note: from a huge 3 ha parcel superbly placed high on the slope, across from the Château; there will be no special cuvée in 2012** Subtle oak frames intensely an earthy yet cool and airy red and dark berry fruit suffused nose that is trimmed in gentle hints of spice and sandalwood. The mid-palate of the middle weight flavors is quite supple and round though the vibrant and highly complex finish tightens up immediately. I like the balance and sense of tension and overall, this should also age beautifully yet also be reasonably approachable in its youth.

William Kelley, Wine Advocate, January 2018 93

The 2012 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru from Méo-Camuzet offers up a classic bouquet of rich, plummy fruit mingling with incense, wood smoke and smoked duck—which has hardly evolved since it was bottled. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, rich and sapid, with a firm chassis of tannin and a succulent, almost saline finish. While the 2012 Les Chaumes seemed a little disjointed at the same tasting, the Clos de Vougeot is clearly very nicely balanced.

**Note: from a huge 3 ha parcel superbly placed high on the slope, across from the Château; there will be no special cuvée in 2012**Copious wood fights somewhat with the intensely earthy yet cool and airy dark berry fruit suffused nose. The mid-palate of the middle weight flavors is quite supple and round though the vibrant and highly complex tightens up immediately. I like the balance and sense of tension and overall, this should also age beautifully.
