Clos de Vougeot, Méo Camuzet 2010

Still a youthful lighter ruby colour The nose is beautiful, I could believe there were some stems here, given the floral elegance, though of course there are none. This has nearly eaten its oak. The floral character drops down and the more solid aspect of the style and the appellation take over. But this has been brilliantly made and is still only half way to maturity. A delicious long supple finish with little red berries. 13% alcohol.

**Note: from a huge 3 ha parcel superbly placed high on the slope, across from the Château**This is slightly riper with hints of menthol to the densely fruited nose of cassis, plum and black berry liqueur aromas. There is a high degree of phenolic maturity to the structural elements that shape the very rich, mouth coating and hugely long finish. While this is not quite as youthfully austere as it usually is, it's still going to require close to 20 years of cellar time so this is by no means forward. Once again, the quality is exceptional and this is another wine that could match, or even surpass, its 2005 counterpart.
