Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Olivier Bernstein 2015

One of the more backward, tight and reserved wines in the lineup, especially compared to the Bonnes-Mares, the 2015 Chambertin Clos-de-Beze is all promise at this point, but man, is it loaded with potential! Framboise, liquid violets, exotic spices, orange blossom, and a beautiful minerality all emerge from this seamless, silky, perfectly balanced 2015 that glides across the palate. Possessing a tight, structured, vibrant profile, integrated tannin and acidity, and thrilling purity of fruit, give bottles 5-7 years and enjoy over the following two decades. Dark crimson. Exotic ripe black fruits on the nose – more obviously fruity than some. Quite heady. Dense with the tannins almost submerged in fruit. So unformed! All the components are swimming around waiting to coalesce. (Drink between 2032-2055)
