Chablis Le Bas de Chapelot, Domaine Eleni et Edouard Vocoret 2020

A deft but perceptible application of wood sets off slightly riper yet still cool and pure aromas of green apple, pear, lemon-lime and oyster shell. The tender but still punchy medium-bodied flavors possess excellent depth for a villages level wine along with very fine length on the mouth-watering finish. Lovely and one to look for.

The broadest shouldered of these lieu-dit bottlings is the 2020 Chablis Bas de Chapelot, a medium to full-bodied, textural wine evocative of orange oil, beeswax, white flowers and fresh bread. Tangy and precise despite its volume, it will be well worth seeking out.
