Siran 2015

Beautiful dark and bright fruits with blackberry, blueberry and licorice aromas that follow through to a full body and round and lightly chewy tannins. Gorgeous texture. A long and flavorful finish. All here. Best ever. Drink in 2022.

The 2015 Siran shows quite a bit of new oak on the nose and clearly needs another few years in bottle. A little sappy in style, yet there is admirable delineation. The palate is well balanced with supple but fine tannin. Well-judged acidity cuts through quite a dense and grippy final half, confirming that this Margaux is for the long haul. Lustrous dark crimson. Really polished and compelling on the nose. Very round and ripe yet with lovely freshness. The best Siran I remember tasting! Really sappy and energetic. 2023 - 2035

Silky textures, refined tannins and an elegant, fresh, juicy mouthful of earthy, ripe, sweet dark red fruits with nuances of tobacco, wet earth, cigar wrapper and a background note of licorice are a turn on. Give this about 7 years in the cellar and this should start to really show its character and complexities. Today, there is no better wine for the money from the Margaux appellation than the 2015 Chateau Siran. The wine was made from blending 55% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot.
