Tasting notes

Kristaps Karklins, Wine Advocate, July 2025 94+

A blend of fruit from Sélèque’s seven vineyard parcels, the 2019 Partition 7 Parcelles is Chardonnay-dominant, complemented by 14% each of Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir. The wine opens with aromas of candied lemon zest, pear and brioche mingling with notes of Madagascar vanilla and cedarwood oil. Vinified in 50% new oak sourced from Atelier Centre France, Cavin and Taransaud, it was disgorged in August 2024 with a dosage of three grams per liter. Full-bodied, concentrated and enveloping, it reveals a fleshy yet saline profile, brimming with natural sweetness despite its Extra Brut designation. Ripe yet racy acidity lends energy and structure. With its generous personality and charm, this cuvée holds considerable aging potential and is poised to win many admirers. Drink 2026-2037.

Audrey Frick, JebDunnuck.com, December 2025 94+

Produced from a selection of top parcels and barrels, including five parcels of Chardonnay, one of Meunier, and one of Pinot Noir, the 2019 Champagne Partition Extra Brut has a bright yellow medium hue and is the highest expression of the vintage. It reveals notes of preserved green apples, toast, lime, saline, and chalky earth. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with weightless volume, silky and round, and just delightful. It tastes of lemon bars and a harmonious nature, as the label suggests. It’s long on the palate, with salted fresh earth and a long-lasting finish, balancing power with elegance. I love it now, but it can age for another 15 years without a problem. Disgorged in August 2024, it has three grams per liter dosage. (Drink between 2025-2040)
