Tasting notes

James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com, November 2024 97

Floral and fragrant aromas of strawberries, hibiscus, cinnamon bark and plums. The palate is medium-bodied with finely integrated tannins and bright acidity, giving notes of raspberries, chalk, dark cherries and spices. Pure and polished with an aromatic lift and some old-vine nuance. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

Erin Larkin, RobertParker.com, February 2025 93

The 2023 Cornish Point Pinot Noir is perfumed and intense, with dried garden roses, blood plum, redcurrant and licorice. In the mouth, the wine is elegant initially, and as the tannins gather momentum across the palate, it becomes an altogether more powerful experience. This is an impressive wine, as usual, shaped by a firm splay of tannin that feels supple, pliable and granular. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, March 2025 17

Mid cherry red. Delicate, stemmy red fruits and refined herbal notes without greenness. Sweet and juicy on the palate, light-bodied, refined, dry and elegant on the finish.

Rebecca Gibb MW, vinous.com, July 2025 92

There's a succulence to the 2023 Pinot Noir Cornish Point. It's open and charming with plenty of concentration. There's certainly a nice depth of Pinot tannin and a line of bright acidity that provides structure, holding the wine in place. The 2023 is sweetly fruited with cherries, blackberries as well as florals on the medium-long finish. Drink 2025-2032.
