Pinot Noir Tuturi, Alexandra, Wild Irishman 2021

The 2021 Pinot Noir, Tūturi, takes its name from a prickly native bush which grows around the Wild Irishman vineyard, and the wine is anything but prickly. Silken and tender, this caresses the palate with its rich fruit sweetness and lifted, woody herbs. At this young stage, it is all red cherry fruit, violets and has the finest of tannin texture, reminiscent of chalky soluble aspirin. On the finish, subtle festive spices creep up to join the primary fruit, leaving a scented finish that has a sense of ease. This is the first release and it is delectable. Drink 2023-2033.
