Chambolle Musigny VV, Domaine Hudelot-Baillet 2015

This too carries a hint of the exotic on a similarly ripe and complex nose of black cherry, floral and soft spice nuances. The old vines show here as there is more size, weight and in particular mid-palate concentration to the medium-bodied flavors that coat the mouth with dry extract on the notably firmer and more persistent finish. I should point out that this is a notably robust and powerful Chambolle villages and thus not really made in the classic image of lace and grace. It is however an excellent wine that is built to reward mid-term cellaring. (Drink starting 2022)
